Chapter 8 Digital Media

I choose chapter 8 because it was an interesting chapter to read up on. you so many different things in digital media that you can discuss on such as digital audio, dvd, digital cameras and scanners. I focus more on digital cameras because there are so much to them as for as image resolution and  graphics. Bitmap graphics is basicially a picture consists of grid dots. These grid dots consist of color which is stored as a binary number.

Purchasing a New Computer

I think she should get the Gateway DX4822-01 because it it has a 23in widescreen lcd monitor rather than 14 crt monitor. It’s processor is a Intel Pentium processor E5300 which is light years better than a Intel Pentium Processor III. She will have plenty of memory with this computer it has 6 GB DDR2 memory. This computer provides her with a huge hard drive with 1 TB. So she  has enough space to put videos , pictures, and programs. It has CD and DVD drive so she can play cds and watch dvd movies.

Upgrading a Computer

I recommend you upgrade your processor so that your computer can process a lot quicker than 1.0 GHz.

You can upgrade your graphic card higher from 256 mb to 1 GB that way you have tons of space for games, and animations.

USb ports u can always have more of them instead of just 1. That way you can hook up more than things that requires using a USB port.

New Assignment (BitMap Graphics)

In chapter 8 it discusses a variety of things such as bitmap basics,and dvd drm, portable audio players, bitmap graphics, video output, 3-D grapics. Bitmap basics focuses on an image being stored as a grid of colored dots. Each colored dot is given a binary number when being stored. Bitmap graphics is used to create images like photographs, cartoons, and computer games.

Im assign to do chapter 8 which is digital media. Chapter 8 is a nice chapter because it discuss about 3-d graphics, dvd drm, audio players and many other topics. Its exciting because your dealing with digital
